A Discord announcement bot that posts on schedule
Big news deserves better than a rushed wall of text at the wrong hour. The Announcements module sends announcement messages or embeds and schedules posts so you can write an announcement when it suits you and publish it later.
Start freeStart free. Pro is $9.99/month.
Update posts, event reminders, patch notes — composed once, delivered on time, looking professional. Announcements is included in Pro ($9.99/mo — 3 bots, all 44 modules).
What you get
Announcement embeds
Send an announcement as an embed without using a webhook.
Scheduling
Write now, publish later: schedule announcements for the exact time your community is online.
Announcement settings
Configure the module's announcement channel, title, color, footer, embed use, and mention settings.
What it needs
- The bot needs View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links and Manage Messages. Manage Messages is used when Auto-delete Command Messages is enabled.
- It uses Message Content Intent. People sending !announce or !announceembed need Manage Messages; people scheduling or changing settings need Manage Server.
Setting it up
- Open Announcements in your bot’s module settings and turn on Enable Announcement Commands. Turn on Enable Scheduling if you want queued posts.
- Choose a Default Announcement Channel, then set Default Title, Default Embed Color and optional Footer Text. Use Embeds By Default controls whether posts are embeds or plain text.
- For a queued post, set Scheduled Title, Scheduled Message, an optional Channel Override and a time. Set Max Scheduled Items for the queue size; Default @everyone and Default @here apply mention defaults.
Example
With Use Embeds By Default turned off, the default title 📢 Announcement and the message Patch notes are live posts as: **📢 Announcement** followed by Patch notes. With embeds on, the same title is the embed title and the message is its description.
Limits and troubleshooting
Limits
- Announcement message text is capped at 2,000 characters; titles are capped at 120 characters and Footer Text at 250 characters.
- A scheduled post must be at least one minute in the future. A guild can have no more than 20 active scheduled announcements, and due posts for one guild are sent two seconds apart.
- The destination must be a text-based channel. Plain-text announcements longer than 1,900 characters are shortened with an ellipsis.
If it doesn’t work
- A scheduled post has nowhere to go: choose a Default Announcement Channel or set a Channel Override for that queued item.
- The bot cannot send an announcement: give it Send Messages in the destination channel, and Embed Links too when the post uses an embed.
- Scheduling does nothing: turn on Enable Scheduling and choose a time at least one minute in the future.
